Hi all,
I'm looking to buy one of those extendable wheel brace thingies for my 96 406 (bent the standard brace trying to get a wheel off last year). Can someone tell me what size socket the wheel nuts need?
Thanks.

19mm on mine.
I use an extendable wheel brace. Came with 2 detachable double ended sockets.
Gives , IIRC.., 17, 19, 21, 23mm.

Mine are 17mm and my spares are 19mm. I too have an extendable tool, which has a 17/19mm double socket. I've also used it for undoing pulleys and hub nuts.......

I got an extendable brace with 17/19 double ended socket from Tesco a few years back for about £5 and have used it time and time again on many cars, just fits in a 406 wheel well.
As an additional observation if you ever bother with a torque wrench to check them you'll be amazed how little effort is needed for the manufacturers recommended 90 nm setting!
