Hi guys bit of a strange one my brakes work extremely.well better than ever to be exact but ever since its mot in July perfect pass Btw I've had an extremely hard pedal I do have travel in it and the brakes are awesome but who so solid once the tiny bit of travel is gone it's like putting ur foot through a brick wall since last year's mot it's had all new pipework on the back and handbrake adjusted(shoes and drums) but I can't see the rears effecting it as it's discs for the main strange I no haven't had time to really check anything

Er... it's not clear from what you wrote on what the problem is. Are you saying your brakes go hard (ooer!) occasionally? This would point towards a vacuum leak or a servo fault.

No brakes are hard all the time I get the usually 2-3 inches travel but there solid but work brilliantly

Hm, 2-3 inches sounds about normal. What if you press the pedal and keep holding it - it should sink, eventually (within a few seconds).

Sounds to me like your brakes were total crap before the mot and the work was done, but now they are working properly.

That would be my assessment, as well. A firm brake pedal is generally a sign of a well-setup and well-maintained braking system.
Of course, it will never measure up to old-school Citroën brakes. Rock-hard "pedal" feel and sensitive, but easy-to-modulate braking. Those things could stop on a dime.
