185/60/15 instead of 195/55/15?

Shocks, springs, anything to do with the running gear

185/60/15 instead of 195/55/15?

Post by Davie206 »

Looking to replace all 4 tyres soon on the 206, I was thinking 185/60/15 might give more comfort and slightly less road noise but will these fit on my alloys?
I have 15" peugeot nimrod alloys 6.0j x15

Hi,
ithink they will be ok as your altering the width..to skinnier ones.
*only thing isee is the profile..60 instead of 55

they might catch you out if carrying any weight..

might be best to ask a tyre fitter..

I just checked online for you...

The difference in diameter is 6.5mm, and there is a 24mm difference in circumference, so your speedo will be 1.2% out, which means 30mph will display 29mph so not a big difference.

Skinny tyres are better in the snow and rain anyway, you will have more comfort but the downside to a higher profile is a bit more flex on the corners.

I think you'll be fine.

I would go with the taller tyres every time but my priority is comfort, I don't drive fast enough to worry about handling.

Yeh im looking for comfort really :) the 195/55/15 tyres I put on 2 years ago were an improvement on the 195/50/15 that were on the car beforehand. Think I'll order myself some 185/60/15s

Cheers for your help guys :)
