3/8 UNC Bleed nipples, (non-406)

Post by Doggy »

Anybody know where these can be obtained nowadays - looking for two for a '74 Aston V8, (no, not mine)!
2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

You could ring these people http://www.brakesint.co.uk/index.html

I'm going up to the mot garage in the morning I'll ask if they have any...they carry a lot of stuff for Jags including the older models, so they may have some.

I had a swift Google and there's loads, but I did notice there's different lengths, not sure if that's something you need to take into account but I just thought I'd mention it.

Length shouldn't make a difference, except the length of the shank at the bottom of the thread.

That looks promising - I'll pass on the link, thank you. If they have any at the garage, I'm sure the Aston's owner would be happy to pay for them.

Thanks for the other suggestions, gents. It's easy to find 3/8 UNF nipples, (24 Threads Per Inch), or even 3/8 UNEF, (32 TPI), the trick is finding 3/8 UNC, (16 TPI).

Could you tap the caliper out to a different thread? Or even timesert/helicoil the hole to accept a different nipple.

Unfortunately, the only ones they had were metric which is the same as myself....sorry.
