Rear drop links

I have bought a set of rear drop links and took them to my garage to have them fitted, he tells me I will have to have the rear wheels realigned if I have them fitted making it expensive. Is this right?

I believe that is incorrect. The only adjustment possible on the rears of the 406 is camber, which is set by the eccentric bolts in the track arms (top links). There is no adjustment of geometry possible in the drop links, so changing them cannot affect the alignment of the suspension.
Someone else will confirm I'm sure

Thanks for your reply I feel what you say is right, I seem to remember some years ago channging drop links as I had to grind the nuts off, so I was confused when the garage said there would be a problem. Many thanks I will do it myself

Not so I'm afraid.
The adjustment on the eccentric bolts on the top links adjusts the rear tracking.
Replacing the rear drop links will not affect any adjustments on the rear suspension.

Remember the thread a while ago..??
About 3 pages of discussion regarding which part the eccentric bolts adjusts, camber or tracking - the outcome as proved by Jasper5 tackling it head on and it was indeed the tracking..

Ah,
this one?. I don't think I read it at the time but yes indeed, the adjustment is for tracking, not camber
Anyway yes go ahead and change your droplinks without worry
