They are easy enough to adjust, have a look at the following two posts especially the last one.

Got the result from the mechanic today. Apparently the rear brake shields had rusted so bad that the handbrake-shoes hade come off their bolts(?). So now i need to get new brake shields. How do i know which type of brake shields i should use? I saw that there is two different kinds, one is more sturdier(?).

Hi, if you remove the rear wheel, and put 2 wheel bolts back in then you can use this with a long bar to turn the rear drum to alighn the adjustment hole to the adjuster, then slacken it off.
It's not easy to do first but once you work it out it's okay....

Sturdier! One is for drum brakes, one is for disks, both are preposterously expensive from Peugeot I'm afraid. Have a look at this thread - viewtopic.php?f=27&t=23639&hilit=backplates Note the slightly cheaper/more involved option from klokkerholm (disk only though)
