The rear suspension on my 406 saloon has just started to make a squeaky-creaky noise when going up and down (can hear it when I boing the car at rest too). Any ideas? Everything else seems to be fine....

Assuming it has the same rear suspension as the estate, the top tie rods can make strange noises although they usually rattle.

My coupe does the same
It's all the rear rubber bushes in the suspension arm's.
I have tried lubrication to no avail, but a full suspension overhaul is in the planning.

I'm assuming (ok, hoping) that it won't cause any safety/MOT issues...?
Was it silicone lubricant you tried? Did it make any difference at all? I'm wondering if it's happened because my car hasn't been driven in the wet for over six months (was parked up for four) and is now in Poland where it's been stinking hot for the last six weeks.....

I can honestly say, I don't know
I tried various types of spray lube, nothing worked
The good news is it's past two mot's with me & passed both, with just a snigger at the squeaking
Could be that it's dry, mine doesn't get driven in the wet if I can help it.
