Probably the switch. Sedre seems to have died on me again but as far as I remember that's all it shows, it's not "your brake fluid's leaked out all over the floor" 'cos you'll get a specific warning for that one. If it helps, the glovebox light switch is the same part.

Wasn't there a know bug with D8 handbrake switches? 
(Never had one so didn't pay too much attention).

=issue, problem, fault, high failure rate, crap design.
