MoT failed, needs servo

After 4 years of reasonably cheap motoring my 406 (2003 petrol 1.8 estate) has failed its MoT. My local Peugeot engineer says it will need a new servo, and a new master cylinder because you might as well... And part of the exhaust. But he doesn't think he can even *get* a replacement servo, and reckons that even if he could, the repairs would cost way more than the car's worth. I can post more details when I've spoken to him tomorrow.
Any thoughts? If it really isn't worth repairing, I'd like another petrol 406 estate, but I haven't seen one in Sussex for months if not years.

Just one thing... changing the servo on a 406 is a MONGREL job with the engine in... ask me how I know! If I do it again, it will be engine out!!

:? I watched whilst one was changed at a show / meeting on a 3.0 V6 coupe
If you think that's a MONGREL of a job then scrap your car & forget converting from auto to manual

I dont mind doing big jobs (like this proposed manual conversion), especially if it is a challenge. I did the servo swap successfully with everything in place (just because I am stubborn and refuse to give up), but quickly realised a short time into the swap that it would be easier to remove the motor/box, but battled on just because stubborn... would do one again but motor out way.. :cheesy:

OK, I've given up the search for a brake servo. I'll post a "For sale" in case any of you would like the car for spares or repair.
