This afternoon I had the back seats down in my D8 to get a telly in, however when ive lifted the back seat up the middle seatbelt is jammed tight against the rear seat back
Is their a way to free it up or will the mechanism need replacing
Long extension on your ratchet. Tilt the seat forwards a bit, then you need to undo the base bolt, once that's off the belt mech will free up then refit the bolt.
Check for the little plastic dot on the seatbelt. It is supposed to stop the belt from disappearing into the seat backrest, but I had the same unfortunate problem when I dropped mine for a fruit machine before Christmas. If you can't see the plastic spot on the belt, it means the spot has gone into the backrest & that is what is causing the seatbelt jam. Solved mine by unbolting the bottom of the belt, prising out the plastic surround from the top of the seat where the belt goes in & gradually easing the belt out until the spot is outside the seat.
Panicked the hell out of me when it happened as I'd not long fitted my half leathers & it squeezed the life out of the backrest!

Cheers for the info, I'l have a proper look at sorting it tomorrow, It'l need to be fixed, one of my sons had to sit in the boot (on the additional rear seats that is) on his tod and he wasint to happy, He's ok if my older son sits there with him
