Multi Function Panel

Post by GTXJez »

My MF Panel is weaker on the left hand side
I assume that there must be pea bulbs for illumination (same as Omega's) seems easy enough to take the panel out.... :D

Does anyone have a manual that may give me an idea? :?:
Cheers

Im Asuming you have got a D9 ?

Multifunction panel ? do you mean MFD ?

if so pop off the 2 corner blanks then you will see 2 little Tx screws behind each blank get them out,
then pull out the Mfd from dash,
on the back of the unit you will see the bulb holders they twist out and the bulb pops out of the holder / s ,.

hope this helps if any

Hi Lozz
Yes MFD, but not sure what D9 means, mine's a 02 GTX Hpi 2.0? so assume so?

But your description seems spot on, I pulled off one of the blanking plates and could see the screws :D
Are the pea bulbs standard and easy to get hold of?

Many thanks for your help Lozz :)

D8 has slatted front grille
d9 has honeycomb grille thats a quick way of working out a d8 -d9.

if you need to work out what bulbs you need for the mfd pop out the ashtray the bulb that lights up the ashtray is the same sort of bulbs for the mfd so just take the ashtray bulb into a car shop to show them what you need, 8)

the bulbs are around 20 - 25p each 8)

My ashtray bulb is now lighting up my mfd idont use the ashtray

Bulbs are 286T

Don't know on the D9 but on the D8 you need to buy the short versions otherwise the MFD won't fit back in

Cheers Plod!
I have a Pug dealer near me so best to go there first, rather than find they don't fit and spend more in fuel going back and forth :?

You can also buy LED ones on ebay, with diffuse light. just search for 286T.
I bought some, I'll let you know when they get here if they fit or if they are too long.
Also, I bought a set of ten bulbs for 5£ shipped to Italy. They also have the base, but do not know if it will fit.

Hi, I will let you know. I presume the new bulbs will be right, I do not see why not. The LEDs will be more interesting to test.
