leather seats?

ive got a 2002 2l hdi rapier... can i fit leather seats to it?

i think i know the answer already but id like abit of confirmation. Ive looked under the centre console and taken out the blank buttons connected to the lighter socket and i cant find any extra wiring that would connect to the buttons for the leather seats.

so im guessing if i were to put any in i couldnt rig them up properly?

you can fit leather seats a few on here have done it, if yours are adjusted
electrically they are the one's to go for .the switches in the centre console
are for heated seats i believe. I believe someone fitted electric seats and
wired them up to work sure they will chip in and advise you .

It can be done, you'll need D9 seats as Pug changed the design of the rear bench (lots!). I'm not sure how hard wiring them up will be, it could be as simple as running a live from the fag lighter. As for the heaters, Pug got very stingy on the wiring on D9s so there's not much spare stuff hanging about. It might be prudent to get the switches out of one in the breakers, together with as much of the wiring as you can rip out without making the breaker unhappy (including the wiring for the seat electrics). Failing that, be prepared to make up the connections yourself (how easy that'll be depends what sort they are - spades, piece of cake, tiny little pins, fun and games!).

Can be easily done (along with door cards). You'll need a beefy 12v supply, so a fag lighter connection won't do. I run mine directly from the battery. You won't get memory function and you'll need to slightly modify the drivers switch to get 12v to it. Passenger one is the easiest to do, so start with that.

i've been running mine off the fag lighter for 12mths now. in the handbook the electric seats are rated a 20A fuse which is the same as the lighter.

The lighter should be on a 10A fuse. The wiring isn't substantial enough to carry 20A and may catch fire

Just rechecked the owners manual for a D9- lighter =20A. in 12 mths i've had no blown fuses or fires... however... i haven't got the heaters rigged up and would never feel happy to run these off the lighter feed tbh

Hi everyone,I'm a newbie here ......... sorry to drag up an old post but is anychance you could make this simple for someone simple lol Ive just put some leather seats in my car and have wired up the passenger seat no probs but there's wayyy to many wires for the driver seat I take it theres a way of just wiring a live and earth here somehow!

Ive got the driver's seat to where i want it by stretching the wires across from my donor car (a 97 2.0 exec should any of you guys need any bits?) but obv need to get this sorted as there's only me who can drive it as it is now lol
