Looking at 2 things at the moment, a year ago got the rear exhaust replaced and it doesnt have a nice shiney chrome finish on it, so was wondering what size is the rear pipe typically and if the below would fit?

It's just a matter of taste at the end of the day. If you want a chrome number plate surround then get one, if you want a chrome exhaust tip then get one!
They're not my cup of tea at all and whenever I've seen that stuff around I allways wonder why they even bothered.
My advice would be to forget the number plate thing (who cares about plates?) and if you must get an exhaust tip then get one that fits the original diameter but maybe enlarges slightly but avoid the "Jap" look for sure
oh and don't have it sticking out to far as that looks pants.
Peugeot even ventured into the chrome tips with the last of the 406 Diesels! they had a reasonable round tip facing straight out but inside it was the original "Donkey's Plonk" spewing soot out towards the floor
