Could be sunroof drains, though other causes are possible.
2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

Plugs missing from floor, leaky aerial (does it rain inside?), loose door seals, leaking windscreen seals, if you park facing downhill it could also be the tail lights leaking (ducks swimming around in your boot?), check the drains under the windscreen, at the back of the bonnet - they can block up with leaves etc. and the water drains into the heater.

the switch is only a few quid from most autofactors, (easy to fit if you have small hands!) if it isn't the switch have a look here as the brake light loom runs under the carpet.

thanx for that
ive checked the rear drivers light cluster and some plonker aint even put the 2 nuts on that hold the light in place
so im guessing that the water is coming in from there

I still can't see how water can reach the footwell from the boot but plenty on here say it is possible :|

Hope you get it sorted.
