Would the seats from a 1998 D8 model easily fit into a 2000/X D9 estate? From what I've read so far, the seats themselves would fit straight in, but my main concern is with regards to the electrics underneath. Not sure if the ones I've found are electric or not, but I can fairly easily wire up a live & earth - thinking more along the lines of the plugs for airbags, pretensioners & the like.
Also, how easy would it be to convert electric seats to manual ones? Could I fit the manual adjustment from my standard seats to them?

Re: D8 Estate Seats Into D9 Estate
Hi everyone, first post so be gentle if the questions have already been asked. I have a couple of questions along the same lines, firstly, do I have a D8 or D9 (my car is a 2000 on a W), and the second is do I need the specific seats or is a swap do-able. I am not concerned about the electric side of things as along the same lines as the above I am sure I can wire a feed in for the power adjustment. Oh, it's a family estate by the way. Thanks in advance, great site by the way, I have learned so much from lurking already!

I think you may struggle to get replies to this, as if you use the search feature, you'll think these questions done to death

Re: D8 Estate Seats Into D9 Estate
I already searched, but all I can find is discussions on wiring seats & hacked seat ECus (which I also can't seem to find available anywhere), hence my question about fitting the manual adjustment. Can't find anything about adapting the seats to manual adjustment anywhere so wondered if maybe it just isn't possible.
Looks like I might just have to stick to the original plan of trying to source an SRi estate interior...

Re: D8 Estate Seats Into D9 Estate
In one of the numerous threads, one of the guys said he gave up on trying to wire up the electrics, and fitted the manual frames, so yes, it is possible.
Can't remember response on estates, but fitting d8 seats into a d9 and vice versa is supposed to be a pig on the saloon, so not recommended.

would these fit a d8 estate? sorry idf this is a daft thing to ask but newish to the 406..

That's a point, you'd have to a fair bit of jiggery-pokery but I reckon it's do-able. It's not like they redesigned the rear seat like the saloon.
