Changing the floor carpet ?

Post by Gary406 »

hello all , we have a HDi 406 with Dark Cream Beige Seats and carpets (horrible i know),
we have sorced a full black interior out of a rapier 406, i know changing the seats is very easy but i have a question before i do it,

the new interior also came with the black floor carpet, has any1 ever done this and is it hard or easy ?

all advise is needed on this one as ive never changed the carpet in one before

thanks

Not done it in the 406 but done it in a 309 and it's a case of removing all the trims from the lower half of the interior and working from there. Shouldn't be too difficult and should only add an hour or two to the time taken to swap the seats over.

Floor carpet as opposed to..? :P

Just a thought - while you're there you may as well check the connectors on the floor for dampness (a favourite 406 D9 disaster area)

I suppose wrapping them self-amalgamating tape would be the best but some sort of water-repellent spray, dinitrol or waxoyl even should do the trick.

Must have a look at mine one day :?
