As an aside, I just had the driver's seat apart to fix the (non)adjustable lumbar support, how many bluddy clips??

I've been debating having a go at replacing the heated seat elements with a set of those universal jobbies, I'm relishing the thought now!

I must admit, once I'd spent ages getting my hands up the back fiddling about with the lumbar support, I did find there was an easier way to get to it: there's plastic rails down either side that are (were on mine) riveted to the tubular frame uprights, just unclip those and the whole back opens up (the edge of the material is in a plastic strip, pull it out from the bottom upwards, towards the middle of the seat). Why didn't I take some pics? It took me about 4 hours but that was mostly sodding about repairing bits like those plastic rails and fabricating some of the lumbar support. Oh, and dismantling some of it again because I forgot the bit of the cover that goes under the seat

I'm also 2Kn and 20 pfennings better off Although I am a little worse off for blood

I didn't touch much of the squab so I don't know how hard it would be to strip down, but it must be "do-able", take the seat out, there felt like clips around the underside holding the material onto the frame, prize them off, then there'll probably be clips or summink holding the springs on...

Actually, thinking about it, once the material's unclipped it'll probably come away with the foam. You should end up with just the frame and springs. I'm not sure where the element is though, on service box it looks like it goes between springs and foam.

Hi, Compared to a 206 driver's seat, the angle is much more severe. Why anyone would want it pointing up to heaven beats me.
I guess these seats are made for 5' 10" upward drivers and not 5' 6" like me!
So, at long last, I have replaced the driver's seat rear bolts with longer ones to accommodate about 3cm spacers. This has improved the seat angle, although amazingly in full tilt forward, it is not horizontal.
The seat is still very secure and the alteration dosen't show. Time will tell if it's really more comfortable.
