Front Armrests

Been given the chance of a pretty decent black Rapier interior &, while it may not be leather or half leather, I think it's a much nicer interior than the standard blue check LX trim. Only downside is, my LX has armrests & the Rapier doesn't. Would it be possible to dye my armrests black & fit them to the Rapier seats or are we talking a major seat stripdown to do it?

Have a feel and see if the holes are in the framwes on the new seats, if so it should be an easy enough swap.

Sounds like a good plan - except that the new seats are 100miles away. Is there anybody with a late Rapier that could have a grope around the side of their seats to check for me please?

i have a 2000 Rapier and i cant feel and holes there if i remember rightly rapier seats are slightly different they have slightly bigger side bolsters than the rest of the cloth seats and i dont think they ever made black cloth arm rests (i maybe wrong) but i cant recall ever seeing any.

Where'd you get an LX that has arm rests?

Is this maybe something only made available on much later LX models? Mine is a 1999 V-reg, and there are no armrests, or fixings for arm rests, anywhere to be found.

My D8 didn't have them, my D9 does. Or did, I've never had a car with them before and all they did was stay upright and collect dust, so I removed them* and they're in a bag.

*as well as the parcel shelf, rear headrests, engine cover and, for the time being, the air filter intake pipe. Wonder what else comes off easily and won't be missed... :supafrisk:

Am I right in thinking that the Rapier has fabric/cloth seats? And your LX has soft/velour seats? Why would you swap? Those LX seats are more comfortable material IMO.

Also, I read on here before that if your seats dont have the armrests then they dont have the bracket in the seat to put them into.

My LX is a 2000. They also added the rear electric windows, wood door cappings & front fogs into the LX at about the same time. Would actually love to get hold of an SRi interior as I'd even prefer that to a full leather from an Exec, but SRis are like rocking horse poo anyway - let alone finding an estate that's being broken!

Rapier interior may have lower quality cloth, but it's a much nicer looking interior than the blue check.
