What's this for?

When taking my door cards off to fit the silver door handles, I noticed on the drivers door area where the leccy window switches are, there is a spare slot

Do other D8's have something there, or is it just a space pug never utilised?

I dunno, ejector seat? Probably an earlier design for the mirror switch that didn't make it to the production line but they were too lazy to change the mould.

That's a healthy crop of crud you got there

Mmm, and it may have something to do with why i've got problems with a couple of the window switches
Keep meaning to pick up some switch cleaner, but keep forgetting

Maybe folding mirrors? Don't think the D8 made it to production with that feature though...

im still waiting in the post for my chrome door handles, tell me are they real metalic handles, or chrome plated plastic, and bar the rivet issue are they easy to change

Chrome plated plastic

You could just change the chrome rather than the whole lot

ach im going to just change the whole lot, it will let me do other things, i can wd40 the locks, and window mechanisms, and get a bit of waxoyl on the inside of the doors, havent done it yet and i normally do it to all the cars i buy, plus i thing peugeots pop rivets are too small ones causing a rattle in the drivers door, so they will do well to be changed, (said in colombo style) just one more thing, does the chrome handles have the red sticker on the locking button to show the doors are locked?

it's just the pull part of the handle that is chrome

the upper bit with the red on is still black

new handles are in now, i see what people mean about it taking time, i took about 3 hours to do it, but they are in tidy, with bigger pop rivets than the standard ones so they wont eventually come loose, but in general has anyones door handle surround on the drivers door or any door been a bit loose ie not clicking in fully, and is there anything to solve this

Mine doesnt click back fully on the drivers door either, but i havent looked into curing this as there are much much bigger problems to solve before i even think about "tarting" it up.

would a set of washers perhaps 2-3 mm thick in behind the rivets of the door handle raise it out enough for the surround to get a better catch
