under my rear seats is wet, not flooded, but wet , the sponge under the rear seats //

could all the condensation problem i had be the cause, my rear lights were leaking causing bad condensation,

perhaps thats what its from and it hasnt dried yet since i sealed rear lights ????

or is the door seals common for going ? checked all door seals and they seem fine,

I'd guess that's probably from the leaking lights. Get it dried out properly before you go fiddling with anything else

Check your door cill seals. I went camping at the end of August and of course it hammered down; we went to go out one morning and both the rear wells had an inch of water in them. One of the jobs I have never got round to
Also check the rear light clusters as Dai says; this is the favourite.

Take them out of the car and dry them out in the house. This is likely to be due to the leaking rear lights, and if you have your car parked nose down on a hill, whatever doesn't get caught by the spare wheel well would end up under the rear seats.

Make sure you take out the seats and dry them in the house with something poweful like a blow heater, or a SuperSer. Whatever it is make sure they are bone dry, and then you wont have a damp smell in your car which is one of the hardest smells to get rid of.

There are also some very small rubber grommets just above the rear seat cushion where the seatbelt buckles anchor to the floor.
I had one missing and water did get in. Easier to see if you have an estate.
Ill take a pic and try and load up here.

Grommet is just to the left of the anchorage about 15mm long

Looks worse than it is...its just discolouration from the seat base. the cars floor is still ok.

Ive had leaky light syndrome and also the membrane in the rear door decided it was going to redirect water onto the back of the door card. From there it ran down ontop of the bottom door sill seal and then behind the inside trim onto the carpet! The little tinker.
