I prefer the look of the OEM part, myself. And on the same page, what the hell have they done to the Coupe???

i had a genuine spoiler bought it of wilko on here

sprayed it up fitted it took it off 1 week later

didnt like the look of it on the 406 at all will never buy 1 again

and on that note i still keep meaning to take the silly LIP spoiler i have on there now

Right, a quick physics lesson.

The engine is the heaviest single component in the car, save for the chassis itself. It's a great big heavy lump, and it will sit up front, pressing the front wheels down and giving plenty of traction. This is the advantage behind a FF-type car.

The disadvantage is that there is nothing like the same amount of weight at the back, unless you have a few fat passengers on the rear bench. So the rear wheels aren't being pressed down like the front wheels are. So the back end is likely to skid out when cornering hard, or when taking a fairly gentle motorway-type curve at high speed.

So what you do is install a spoiler. The spoiler increases the amount of downforce at the rear of the car. The more air flowing over the spoiler, the more effective it becomes at pressing the rear wheels to the road. So the car ends up being more evenly grippy the faster you go.

Gary - the spoiler you used, was that intended for a D8 or a D9? I thought the D9 ones are nicer looking.

i find my car fine with no spoiler. Them electric spoilers that come up at 75mph are a bad idea.

Mines been Manky for the past month

Iwashed it yesterday and then Hooverd out the inside and gave the dash and plastics agood polish,
in the next day or so imight treat it too an hour or 2 inthe garage and give body work some Tlc with the Merguiars and an electric buffer,
