is it important that this bit is fully sealed to the door before the door card goes back on //
since my door cards are off being sprayed i noticed these things are hanging off .
so ive re-sealed them all over with tigerseal , hope it was necessery to do so as ive used quite a lot of seal and it aint cheap

Double sided tape would have done a good enough job as the doorcard will hold it in place once all is back together anyway.
But it is quite an important part as without it, you'll get dampness coming in & condensation on the windows & possibly little rusty bits inside the car.

nope double sided tape doesnt do, a mistake i learnt myself i thought it would do, the water just pushed past it, i used some sealant to put them back on, they are important for keeping the door dry, and to stop water coming in. But really pug should have done what i seen on a vw passat, made a metal bolt on sheet, that has a seal round the outside, then if you do need to change a motor you can just unbolt the sheet, and rebolt it on without worrying about ripping it.

Dont worry about the grey it just means add more coats.

i know ye its really expensive stuff,
they do look a lot better but in sum places they look more light than others
to me its lighter were the cloth is more worn ie round the front door handles - the back ones have turned out brilliant
if they still look lighter in place wen back on the car i will invest in another couple of tins to do the lighter bits
really there not that bad its probably just me being fussy
once back in and a few weeks have passed by i can put the lighter bits down to wear

no1 never needs know they was grey before
and after 13 years im sure cloth will fade anyway
