is it safe Enough to turn the passenger side air-bag off and just rip the seat out?
or will this airbag still charge up?
idont Fancy Disconecting the battery,

Seat needs to come out as its Snapped and the Seatbelt bit is not Anchored to the seat properly,
Any ideas wether this thingl blow off or not?
iwill be wearing a crash helmet tomoz me thinks

because ive heard that some of these 406s never run again after batterys been off,
im Getting fed up with the Electrical gremlins on it as it is

Iwill just Follow the 3 min rule me thinks & hopes all Goes well,

so 1st thing iwill do is turn off all the interior lights,
drivers side window down,
bonnet up,
Let it Go to sleep for 5mins.
then take positive lead off the battery.,

Hopefully it wont throw a Wobbler. when reconected

The thing is you will need to disconnect the battery from time to time, so you can't be worrying yourself about it.

Additionally, I've been using one of these http://www.alltoolsdirect.co.uk/draper- ... 1978-p.asp , they're designed to stop the transient currents from welding from sodding up your electronics (I did a shed load of welding on my old Senator without disconnecting anything!) What you do is connect it between the battery connectors, that way the car is protected from anything nasty going down the wires as you disconnect & reconnect it no matter how many sparks come off the battery.

I've checked the schematics, it appears the passenger airbag switch tells the ecu not to fire it, it doesn't actually disconnect the airbag.

Btw I made a right mess of my D8's sill trims dragging the seats across them

lozz ignition off. just unclip the seat and remove it.

ive had my seat out dozens of times and its been ok that way.

taking the seat out wont do anything to the passanger air bag.

make sure you plug all plug back onto seat before you turn ignition back on so you dont get airbag light flashing.

Was Going to rip out the seat this morning but when iwoke up icouidnt move my backs fubard
so iwill be leaving it for a week me thinks

Oh bugger You should take that to your quack, I woke up a couple of years back in agony and went to the quack, who sent me to see the psychopath who says my back is (now let me get the terminology right here, ah yes) f+cked and gave me some exercises. None of which I'm still doing

doctors are a waste of time up here mate Getting an apointment is like picking winning lottery numbers,
its up too 2wks before anyone gets an apointment, allthose that do get an apointment are the ones that have come into the country maybe they get seen for friction burns clinging too undercarriage of fast moving trains itcarnt be much good for em isupose,

someones added some nuts and bolts its been bodged before,
Ripping it out wouid only take 5secounds the Frame work is weak and half of it is snapped
the air/bag wires are Hanging loose already so someones ripped it out before.
iwill have to find one in a scrapyard this week as this one looks dangerous and it be as much use as an Ashtray on a motorbike in a crash

the seat as a Strange pattern on it so imight struggle to find one the same,
if anyone sees a Grey d9 seat about with a blue cross hatch pattern on it please give us a shout
