To all,
How do you remove the front seats on the 406 D8 - I don't have a copy of the Haynes manual with me at the moment...
A recent trip to the beach (yes, our beaches have sand) - has resulted in one filthy interior which I need to vacuum out!
Cheers,
Joel

Re: Removing front seats?
Hey Joel. Umm, not sure if you want to bother with all the faffing about disconnecting the airbag ecu, as they don't fire when the connectors mess up then I suppose it'll be enough to disconnect the battery for a while. There's 4 torx holding them on (can't remember the size, sorry), it's a long time since I last had them out but I think you'll need to pull off the side panels to get to the outside ones. Push the seat all the way forward to get to the back ones, then push it all the way back to get to the front ones. Lift and separate. Be careful pulling them over the sill trims, I made a right mess of one of mine dragging the seat across it

Re: Removing front seats?
a 1997 D8 probably wont have airbags in the seats ? will it ?
joel. simply unplug all the electric connectors under the seat. safealy fold them up so you dont rip them out .
slide the seat back as far as you can. 2 torx bolts at the front of the runners (i think there about T45) maybe T40
then once those front 2 bolts are out slide the seat forwards as far as you can and there are 2 more torx bolts at the back of the runners.
job done. airbags need not be touched.
PS - remember to plug those electric plugs back into the seat when you put the seats back in the car BEFORE you turn ignition on.
turning the ignition on with the plugs out may result in the airbag light flashing constant and needing a reset
it should only take 3 minutes to fully remove a D8 front seat

Re: Removing front seats?
The pretensioners are run by the same thing, hence the airbag light flashing.

Re: Removing front seats?
Also worth noting that when you put them back in you need to do the 2 bolts at the front before you do the rears. The bolt holes at the rear of the seats are slightly oval to allow for a bit of movement, but the fronts need to be perfectly in place.

Re: Removing front seats?
Cheers guys - I'll just be nice and careful with the pretensioner connectors under the seat! Should be fine though!
