I believe his was a peeling knob or two  along with the usual handle malarky, he tried some plasticoat stuff off the bay but said it was crap from what i can remember,

Lozz im sure he will be along soon enough with some more insight, mine where the same but i didnt have the urge to tidy mine up

I bought Exec-spec door cards for my old LX saloon - when they arrived, the rear door grab-handles looked like a dog had been chewing them.

I went down to see Blue406 and he helped me out - we went to his famous local scrappy and got some undamaged grab handles off've a wrecked 406. The handles are held on to the door cards by means of plastic rivets. He drilled those out of my door cards, and used a self-tapping screw to fix the clean handles on to the door cards. They look like they're brand new.

i tried sanding them to prep it for the plastidip so the rear left one is in shite and needs replaced.
Meths, is that methalated spirits, the purple thinner stuff?

yup mate
it stinks but its good at cleaning stuff as it just evaporates afterwards,
im not sanding mine iwant to leave the shiney coating there ,

plastic dip is ok if you use plastic primer 1st if you just spray it on some plastics it has nothing to key into,

a bit of suede or alacantra would be nice, not just there but on other bits with hard plastic.

I have this problem too. For now I do not have any urgency to fix it, but I'll watch out for possible solutions.
