Depends which bit you're on about. If it's just the cluster surround, then there's 2 screws above the steering cowls and then it just pulls out IIRC. Pretty much all the trim is easy to take out providing you've got the right size torx bits!

If all you want to do is look at the back, it's no more than 30 mins to do. Undo the screws at the top of the surround (above the clocks) then prise the surround out slowly & carefully starting at the vent ends (it's all 1 piece).

When that's out, there are another 3 or 4 screws above the clocks holding them in & to remove the cluster you have to wiggle it up & sideways a bit before it'll come out.

Than you, that was helpful, i want to see what type of bulbs ( i think its T5 aka 286 bulbs like the ones it's present in the MFDisplay ) and where they are, i'm think of putting the pointer in red and the rest of the instrument panel in blue ... and when i'll do this i'll have the clocks chrome surroundings and do the 2 things at once ...

I also had a torx screw in the side of the surround, accessed through the access panel on the side of the dash

Old post, but I have some pics to add.

To remove the instument panel you first have to remove the plastic bit that has the drivers and centre dash vents.

To do this: remove the three torx screws above the instrument panel, then "un-clip".

The "un-clip" part is the hardest part of the process. These pictures should make it much easier:

Help yourself with some flat blade screwdriver to lift the plastic off.

Exactly. It's just that it's a damn sight easier if you know where the clips actually are.
