He needs clocks in order to use to make the new ones
I'm sure if you contacted him and offered to send him a set of clocks he'd oblige

In that case i'm not interested, i though he could make the clocks witout the need of the original ones, i thought it was just the dials/clocks part that he was doing and not the whole instrument panel ...

It would just be the dials/clocks but he would need a reference to work from to get the positioning of everything correct

Farmerpug, that would be great  :o , but it will depend on how much he is asking for them, and possibly if he could make an eur version like having the km/h in first place and then mpg in the middle ... you there have the other way around, those white dials combining the chrome surrounding that i'm about to buy would look awesome 8).

A little question will the background lights be enough for those dials ?

PS. your's white dials look really amazing

PS.2. I would by an instrument panel with 5 dials, but i'm a bit worried that it could had the extra miles to my car, which will cause to fail at MOT ... and this instrument would needed to be the 2 plugs version, which would be even harder to find ...

My cars a fully multiplexed car with the single plug at the back, the crome ring bit is integrated into the front of the speedo, and the dial face and needles just pull off, then i put these onto my original dials. But the white only seems to have been offered on the Multiplexed cars so that means 1 plug.

The 4 dial cluster i have was out of a 2001 car pre multiplex and i believe it had 2 plugs

It would depend on how this person makes the dials white if they would be still usable with the normal backlighting, id imagine so.

It would have no sense if the dials weren't able to use the back lighting

Anyone know the progress of this young man ?

He made some up and without the lights on, they looked really good, but once the lights were on, there was some shadowing showing

He's been trying to source some alternative material to overcome this, but has been busy with a lot of other things such as the air box scoops he's developed etc

He offered to send me my clocks and a demo version back this week, but I told him to wait so he could send back all in one.

The problem with the 406 is there is too many versions of the clocks and this makes it unviable for Nivek to buy all the different options to be able to make all the dials up
I bought a cheap set of clocks off ebay and got the seller to send them direct to Nivek
He uses them to make a template and I get a set of white dials

If you really want a set of white dials, and you can source a cheap set of clocks and it's not a version he's made up, then this is really your only course of action short of waiting endlessly for someone to do the same

But you say that there is shadowing when lights are on, so it's not viable to send him the dials, since it will have this defect ....

i guess i'll just buy the chrome rings and live with the boring black dials :)

I said there was shodowing with the previous material used

Wait and see what happens with the new material

heres how the white dials light up:

lit up they are not as sharp as the black dials when its not completley dark outside, but in the dark of the night they are easily readable.

I like the dials, but what I like most is the needles... they are wonderful, that slight white light at the tip is really elegant.
