D8 drivers seat .

Hi,just got a d8 and was wondering what the tube like thing was at the side of the drivers seat,its got an insert that pulls out part way.

Hi mate,
im not 100 % but id guess on seat belt pre-tensioner,
ihad one on a d9 that worked loose, came away from seat,
not sure its that tho,

Sounds like the height adjustment lever,pull the insert out all the way and pull the lever towards the back of the car and the seat should rise or push it forward and you then can't see over the steering wheel.

It is indeed the height adjuster, I'll be taking mine apart in the warmer months to see if I get get it to go lower as my head rubs the roof lining even on the lowest setting, it was ok in my last car but that was a lot higher mileage so may have had more give in the cushion.
