Did peugeot ever make uprated boot struts for Saloons that had spoilers or were they all the same, the boot is a bit heavier with a spoiler thats not a problem I'm just worried that it might damage the struts over time.

Speaking of boot struts: how does your boot lid behave when it is nearly closed?
Does it:
(a) drop down heavily,
(b) drop down lightly,
(c) stay where it is, or
(d) open up?
Mine has always been (a), to the extent that anyone unfamiliar with it ends up slamming it horribly. Normal, or new struts needed?

it drops down heavily making a loud thud noise that can wake everyone up.

B for me too, if I let it go at half travel, but most people slam it anyway since they are used to do so on most cars.

is this response b for cars that have spoilers or without them, before the spoiler was there it would have been B aswell, would estate struts have more strength than a saloons struts?

I do not have a spoiler, so the answer may be a if I had one. I doubt the estate struts can fit the saloon.

Would the weight of the spoiler really make that much difference?

It seems likely, the spoiler is not very heavy but is placed at the very end of the boot thus produces much torque.

the lever formula
The thud noise is normally ok out in the countryside it just sounds like a shotgun to the neighbours, but i visited friends the other day and had to get a cake out of the boot, slamming it down caused a neighbour to get a good look at what was happening
