Sunroof leak, passenger sun visor dropping water

Well this problem is recurrent, i had it last year, or it was not fixed properly or the fix just broke.

Last year the fix was applying silicone on the little edge/gap that the sunroof have in it's front side, and it was nice indeed. But today it started to drop water again from the same place, and it's not so wet than last year, because last year we could see the trim wet, this time is only dropping from the sun visor.

Any suggestions would be great.

Thank you for helping on this.

It's usually a blocked sunroof drain, very easy to sort out: viewtopic.php?f=10&t=8446&p=81065&hilit=sunroof#p81065

is it down to the sunroof seal ? i thought that the water that goes in will go throw the tubes on the corners ..

Do i really need a new sunroof ?

It's a bit risk buying from scrapyard because it can be damaged also ...

We'll the seal is leaking and there 88 from pug u can clear the drains and hope that works but the hole put
Of the drains is if any water gets in while open it goes through there and not in ye car ye it is risky buyin one from a scrap yard I'm lookin in to the facelift model
To see if the glass is the same coz I grab one out of a newer car atleast that way there's a better chance of it been any use or try find a company that will make a after market seal for it

Its most likely the sunroof drain tubes, as doggy said, sometimes they might not be cleared well enough to let water flow fast enough down them say on a really rainy day too much rain can overcome them.

I think the sunroof seal doesn't seal 100% even when new thats why there is the drain tubes, its a bit late for most of our cars now but if you do get a new sunroof seal a bit of silicone spray once in a while should keep it fresh for much longer. Where it is located on the car does make it exposed to drying out with the heat of the sun in the summer.

what i recall happening in the past that caused a leak around where you mention was the sunroof has a wind deflector thing, it pops up when the glass moves back, rivets hold it in place, and i remember seeing on my car that water passed through the centre of the rivets, a dab of sealant into each of the rivets cured that problem.

Also on the guides for the glass there is rubber stoppers, i also removed them and put sealant round their cavities then put them back in place.

Thanks for the info there.

the problem is like farmer said, this only happens when it rains for 2 or 3 days straight, even if it rains a lot only for a could of hours or a day nothing happens ...

Well, tested drain tubes and they are 100% working, tested continuous water dropping in them and they drained with no problem .. don't know what to do ...

same problem here i only get a leak if there has been torrential rain and i turn the car sharp i think whats happening is the drain tubes can only cope with a specific amount of water at a given time and when going round a corner the amount of water overcomes the drain tubes. the solution i think is to replace the sunroof glass seal

Well in my case it doesn't need to be torrential, if it rains continuously, i get the leak in same spot ...its strange why it doesn't leak on the other side ? If the seal was wrecked it would leak on both sides, i assume ...

there is two rear drain holes, to see them you need to take the boot carpet out of the way, they go out round where the cd changer sits, they don't seem to block up though i think the reason the front ones block up is that the scuttle for the bottom of the windscreen where there front drains go out is the same place as where all the old leaves rest, wheras on the back there is no accumulating dirt.
