A pillar trim

It looks like i might have the partially blocked sunroof drain pipes as most people with 406 sunroofs suffer from,my question is how do you remove the plastic trim(dashboard to headlining) from the A pillar to get access to the tube,i don't want to go tugging and pulling in case i break the plastic,mine has also got those sensors for the alarm attached to them,any advice appreciated.

You just pull them off. Don't get too enthusiastic if yours has ultrasonic movement sensors......

For the cars with the sensors, pinch the sensor and it should just pull out, if it won't come out too easy just leave it you can disconnect the sensor from the other side.

To pull the trim off, first pull the door seal down out of the way, only enough so your fingers or a pry tool can fit in, then just pull the trim away from the pillar and it should unclip, try to unclip from the top down, with it loose, tilt the top away from the a pillar and then lift it out of the dash.
If while doing this and the sensor was still attached, when you release the trim along the top, just reach in and unclip the sensor from the trim, they seem to be fairly well soldered in place.

Cheers for that,when it stops raining sometime next year i'll give it a go,meanwhile i'll just park the car nose up the drive which seems to stop the leak.

It's really a lot simpler than it sounds - you could do both sides in 15/20 minutes, (though I recognise getting that long between showers is a bit tricky during the current drought).....

I was worried about them initially because before that the only car id got the a pillar trims off was a 305 and they just shattered.

It really doesn't take long to get the trims off, i did it in about 2 minutes with one hand while holding a camcorder in the other:

What about the headlining?
I have a microphone stuck up near the interior light for a long since departed hands-free kit put in by the previous owner and the wire goes down the A-pillar. I always wondered how they got it up there in the first place.

the headlining isnt really an issue but if you want it out the courtesy lights grab handles and sun visors need to be removed.
if you have the a pillars off is really easy to drop the wires doen
into the front footwell. for a modern car the 406s dash is fairly easy to route wires through

buy a cheap Gazeebo mate,
