My mate has an R reg D8 and was wondering if a centre console with the can/cup holder between the seats from a D9 would fit the D8?

I'm sure it's been done (can't find it though

), the only difference (as far as I remember) is the fag lighter is slightly different size.

yes it fits but its a waste of time,i found as the cup holders are to small and to far back.and with a exec the arm rest is also in the way.

I have a D9 one in my D8, and had to enlarge the fag lighter hole to accept my lighter
Cup holders are ok for me, as I usually have a 500ml water bottle in there no problem, as it's my prefered choice of drink now i'm on my health kick
J had to change mine anyway to get the heated seat switches in, so seemed no brainer to upgrade

I've always had the cup holders in my two 406s (both D9s). I always find a 500ml Coke or Irn Bru bottle falls over when in the cup holders, because they're not deep enough to support that size of bottle. I always end up bashing my elbows on them anyway. The smaller 250ml bottles fit just fine; you get them in multipacks of 8 in the supermarkets.
Neither of my 406s have arm rests, so I have no experience of the armrests getting in the way.
As mentioned, the cup holders are too far back to be used comfortably. I certainly wouldn't put any open-topped cup or open drinks cans in there in case of spillage - it's got to be a small bottle with a screw top.

We can't use both cup holders in the Estate if the girlfriend is driving as the drivers armrest is in the way with how far forward the seat needs to be, the holder sizes seem fine for a takeaway from Costa or McDonalds
