Hello all,

I've got a annoying problem with my boot
Looking at the other problems regarding a wet boot mine seems to be different.

It's only wet where the lock meets the boot lid, the boot lid lining is wet around the lock area too as is the floor of the boot around the lock area, the spare wheel is rusty but no water in the well.
I'm thinking its the seal around the lock on the outside but without taking it off yet I don't know if there is a seal?
I'm thinking if it is then a sealent inside the lock area might sort it.

I only found this leak a few weeks ago before the snow set in and the car inside was mouldy over the seats, steering wheel and parts of the dash. Cleaned it up now tho and passed its mot so will be drivin it more often now after being sat for 5 mths

Has anyone had this same problem or know if their is a seal around the outer boot lock?

The 1st d9 ihad leaked in that area,
ended up with a fish pond around the cd changer

it was the boot seal, cost me 3quid or so for another one from the breaker yard

don't have a cd changer

is it a whole unit? key and that... or just the outer case?

Best way to find boot leaks is
drive to a jet wash, get someone to blast the car while you look in the boot,
with the backseats down dont forget to have a torch handy

With an update to this,

I've taken the boot lid lining off, lots of cond on the lid itself but not anywhere else, the back window seems to mist up too. Where I thought the leak was by the lock i've put newpaper there to see if it gets wet and after all this rain nothing!

Any more ideas ppl?
