Can front seats be swopped around?

I have a 2004 HDI 2.0 estate with electrically operated front seats. The driver's leather seat is starting to wear on the window side of the seat
(near the top) because you tend to scuff it when getting in and out. The passenger front seat is perfect however.

Does anyone know if the seats can be changed around? Agreed both seat controls would be on the other side of the seat
(i.e. in the handbrake area) but there seems to be room enough to accommodate this. Also I would need to disconnect the wiring. Has anyone done this job?
"Not worth the hassle" I think I hear you say.

The last time I swapped front seats around was in a Morris Minor.......ah...times were so different then.
(You could fill the tank and still have plenty of change from a fiver for a start.)

Can't be swapped over I'm afraid. The mountings next to the centre console are different to those on the outside of the car. Gone are the days of just 4 bolts going flat into the floor to hold the seats in.

You will also have airbags in the sides of the seats and they would be the wrong way round.
