Sorry guys this was me! Noticed the nav display in the pictures on this breaking auction: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/171134157049

Asked the seller to power it up and take some pics and list it for me.

Sorry!

To be fair, I too would have bought it then sold it on for a much greater amount of money.......

They come without remotes though, so pretty useless without one, right?

True, but most sat-nav screens are peppered with lines and would be glad to get in such good condition to replace what they have....

I think most people but them to replace duff ones and not to retro fit the satnav so should already have the remote control

Indispensable. It's amazing the fun you can have pointing the r/c at traffic lights you know are about to change anyway. :P

To retrofit satnav into a non-satnav 406, is it a simple swap of the MFD or is there a SATNAV unit in the boot hooked up? What else would you need to do to retrofit it?

I think there is a fair bit involved, you need;

MFD, Sat-nav remote, reader in boot, CD to go in reader, aerials, relays etc etc. All the parts would cost hundreds of pounds to buy if you can find decent ones.. My factory sat-nav is working well but others say their factory one is rubbish.

Stick with a Tom-Tom.. 8)

There was a kit on eBay a few weeks ago, disc reader, display, antenna and disc for around £120 if I remember correctly.

Agreed on the "don't bother, use a TomTom" suggestion though.
