Rattle behind the glove box

Over the past few days, I have been getting some rattling from the glove box area. I removed all the crap I had from there and it still rattles - even going over a small bump I hear it.

Before I start hunting for the cause, are there are known loose bits there that tend to break off? I know BSI is there as well as some recirculation fan/flap thing - are these prone to working loose causing a rattle?

BSI's driver-side. Try removing the glovebox for a drive?

The lock barrel on the glovebox is a known rattle suspect!

I was sure the BSI is behind the glove box...

It's definitely coming from behind the glove box somewhere - drove with the glovebox open and the noise was exactly the same. Will certainly remove it at some point.

The glovebox is only held in by 2 plastic pins, takes 10 seconds to remove it. There are a few things lurking behind it, blower, recirculation motor - likely suspect - and various hoses etc. POP the box off and go for a spin after wiggling whatever you can wiggle behind it....

If only :( That's how the lid comes off, the rest is screws, one of which is a female dog to get to. Here's Frank's recirculation flap how-to which covers glove box removal http://youtu.be/hDgZBsBfR3s

Oh the fastener from hell, that took me forever to get to. What on earth were the designers thinking?!

Something along the lines of "that'll do, my mistress is getting cold"

Found it - the bolt/screw holding the passenger air vent came off, dropping the vent on top of one of the support struts. A zip tie later and all fixed!
