Arm rests

Post by Quinny »

My passenger seat arm rest is floppy, as in it looks like it may have been forced down at some point in it's life.

Any way to rectify the floppiness? (Oooeeerrrr missus. )

There's a plastic bracket that the arm rest fits into which, in turn, clips into the side of the seat

Mine (the black one) broke which caused the arm rest to flop down.

Giving the arm rest a firm wallop back into the side of the seat was a temporary fix.

Thanks.

I'll take a look at that.

I take it the part is available from the dealers?

Yes, but it looks like over £20 for one. I'd be tempted to get one from the next member breaking a car, or visit a scrappy.

Right.

Took the arm rest off today, and it's foobarred. All the inside at the bottom of the guide pins is broken, so it looks like I was correct in that it's been forced down in it's life.

So I need to get another, but am at a loss as to the colour.

Where will I find the trim code?

With a discussion going about arm rests i thought id ask, why don't more cars have arm rests like the 406? A lot of cars have what they call arm rests but are not much more than a bit of cushion on top of the centre console, why isn't there more of the 406 type that are mounted to the seat.
