Auto lights is a multiplexed feature so the non mux stalk in the pic won't be able to do it, I'm afraid.

To be fair, the auto-lights can play up a bit. On my old 406 they were dangerous as the auto-light button was worn, so would randomly turn off the headlights even when disabled....

It is a nice feature when it works, but I could live without it if it went wrong - I just turn the lights on myself, old skool style...

I'm so used to auto lights now I get flashed in the 307 for not turning them on

Me too - had these in the 406 and now the 407... very convenient. Hate the auto wipers though, horrible.

Hmmm - if only there were some lights in the car, say near the dashboard somewhere, that would make it obvious you had no lights on when it was dark outside.....

My GLX lights work fine - they just don't like going off again

I never use them. I prefer to be able to swap to sidelights if reversing, or stopping for a moment.

Idiots who leave them on when parked wind me up as much as the foglight brigade.

Switch them off with a hammer, I say. :frown:

You can still turn to sidelights only even if it's on auto... I think

Correct, I use the sidelights to turn off the headlights if I've parked up, or reversing into my drive.

I like them, going to a car without feels like I've lost my left nut or something. My old mitsubishi diamante used to have auto headlights and a blacked out dash which was always lit with the car running, I got told off a couple of times by the old bill whilst driving in a lit urban area with no lights, due to fat fingers accidentally switching the auto function off

I think they are quite handy when driving through a tunnel, into a shed they turn on, and they turn on in the rain if the wipers sense enough rain, the auto wipers are a bit hit and miss, they dont work great for a light drizzle it needs to be pishing out of the sky before they decide its time to turn on the wipers.

As for the auto lights, getting into the 305 i have been caught out a few times, i have drove it with the lights on, parked it up, get out and forget to turn off the lights which has caused a few non start moments, there is no audible warning that the lights have been left on.
