fitting 1998 v6 coupe leather seats in a 2003 rapier estate
Hello everybody, I've picked up a set of leathers cheap from a 1998 v6 estate, my 2003 rapier has cloth ATM but has a few spare wires under the seats and the plugs are there for the heated elements, does anybody know how to hardwire a permanent live to the drivers, the new seat is ment to have an ecu as it has memory? Any help would be great, thanks

Aha, I did mine a couple of weeks ago, I bypassed the ECU and wired the seat directly.
Have a butchers at how I did it

It is easier to remove the switches from the Rapier seat, and fit them to the leather seat.
I am guessing of course that you have electric seats already..??
If you have manual seats its a whole different ball game - but if you have a square yellow plug under the seat, this is the power supply to the switches so you can grab some non-leather electric switches ( GLX, LX etc ) from a scrapyard.

I do have a yellow plug to plug in for the power source, but the passenger seat has a yellow plug under the seat, I can get hold of a non leather switch, where would the yellow square plug plug in on the drivers seat though, thanks for your help

The leather seat has colour coded sockets in the base.
Yellow is power, white is a blank, big brown is the heater element, little brown is the side airbag and little blue is the pre-tensioner, I think.....
The passenger seat should be a straight fit, only the yellow, blue and 2 brown connectors to plug in - maybe try this one first to see if it works?
