Hi I've fitted leathers from a d8 and have the electric movement working fine, have sourced some switches for the heated seats and they're lighting up when the lights are turned on but there is no power from the brown plug under the seat with button pressed in, does anyone know which fuse controls the heated seats?

There is a big green 30a fuse in the fusebox in the engine bay - I think its F4.
There should also be a relay in the same box, which is an engine running relay.
My GLX had neither so my heated seats are not wired in yet - although they were fully working when in my donor car....

You probably need to fit a micro relay, that's what mine needed. It goes in a connector clipped to the bottom of the BSI (IIRC there are two in one thing but only one socket had wires on mine)

I've been trying to find a part number without anything definite. I think it's one of these
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ELECTRIC-RELA ... 0500147276 .
I got mine from the repair shop here (Puhar, brilliant place that fixes anything with an electric motor in it). I stumbled in off the street just on the off chance I could get the guy to understand what the f*ck I was going on about but, not only did he understand my hand gestures perfectly, he had an old one knocking around the shop which he gave me

It works too.

Thanks guys, the fuse is there already as were the electric seat fuses, only have power to light the switches up when sidelights or headlamps are on, I bridged a live feed from the seat motor plug and the switches lit up as if they were working but the seat didn't,

Aww poo

Sedra (and my fuse diagrams) say fuse 28 in the passenger fuse panel. Failing that I think we'll be checking those relays...

I've only got a wiring diagram showing the big boy fuses but it doesn't show what's next to what. Try bunging the 40amp in the slot? I don't think it'll do the job but I can't imagine anything nasty happening if there's nothing on the end of it.

This is what should be in the empty slot, next to the red 40a maxi-fuse.....

Still no joy, do you know if the switches have pins in a different place on the d8? As mine is a d9

Same part number, so no.
I'm still thinking it's strange for your car to have the heated seat relay without the heated seats. Those relays, can you read any numbers off of the wires?

Thanks Steve, I'll have a look.
I have 2 mini-relays in the engine bay fuse box of the donor car, but my GLX doesn't have that part of the loom inside the fuse box at all..??
I'll check under the BSI when I get time / permission

I have 2 mini relays under the steering wheel fusebox but not under the bonnet, can't see any relays in the under bonnet fusebox just mini fuses and a few large ones I would add some pictures if I knew how, do any of you have Facebook?
