Steering wheel chrome badge.

Post by Benner »

Do I have a chrome badge missing from here?

My '6 is an LX and I have seen others with it on. I had always assumed that it was only put on the higher spec cars but now I'm not so sure.

That looks good without the chrome badge!

Unfortunately my badge is heavily scratched and looks pretty awful tbh, I've always pondered if I can take it off without making it look worse
<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang

Yeah I like it how it is.

I'm just curious to see if it should have one.

Nah I'm pretty sure my D8 LX didn't have a chrome badge in the steering wheel... :?

The couple of LX's I've seen then must have had a different airbag put in.

I like it how it is though.

I just been looking on Eblag, and it seems that the 1996 ones didn't have the chrome lion, but from 1997 on they did, no, hang on, that can't be right, mine was a '98

Errrrm, dunno! :cheesy:

I've been looking and as far as I can tell, the '96 406's have the air bag without the chrome badge and the newer ones do. The airbag looks pretty similar to what i've seen on the last 405's they made.

I should point out that it's a Peugeot, and they tend to put whatever they want on their cars, when they want. So there may not be any set age or spec that has the chrome badge. Could be different factories/countries, or just how the steering wheel fitter felt on the day.
