Right got myself a D9 Interior out of a banged up 406 executive...
No one seems to be answering my old thread some basically....
D9 door cards, what modifications do I need to do and how much do I need to nick off the donor car, also being an executive it has puddle lights which my GLX doesn't how do I wire them up? and what's the difference in wiring in the D9 Card Vs My D8 Card.... D9 cards look much better with the stitched leather and black door handles to contrast with the cream.
The D9 front seats will go in easily I've been told and I think I can handle the ECU and stuff

Hopefully
The Rear Seats Different Fitments, Hmm are all the bolts in the same place? and what about this catch mechanism what modifications do I need or how do I swap the aphostory over from the D9 to my D8 backplate....
Remember I'm quite simple well not really but graphic answers would be best...
I think it was Captain Jack who put the D9 door cards in his D8 so he might be able to give me an insight into wiring differences etc.
Nutski seems to have done the opposite of this D8 to D9..... but no picture provided still
Any help appricated, specifically pictures

This might be why we're quiet.
If I were you I'd head straight for the back seat and see what the problem is as this is likely to be your major stumbling block. If things really are that different maybe you can change the upholstery over but I've no idea as I've never even sat in either saloon.
A quick search for door card brackets.

Hmm I hope Nutski wasn't pulling my leg when he said he changed over his D8 rear seats to fit his D9 by changing over the aphostry

Otherwise I'm going to be really quite upset.... oh well heated front electric leather D9 seats and fabric rear ones, hmm at least the door cards will fit? right, right

Apparently, see the door card link.
Hmm, it would look a tad strange, know anyone that stitches leather?

I'm guessing the covers will be similar to 309 ones, and if that's the case then they just unzip, you remove then and put them on the other seats. It's a bit more difficult than that as the leather doesn't 'give' so much, but is an easy enough job to do.

Don't you just love Hypothesising.... Hmm I hope the seat covers just zip off :/ and the door cards I will steal the brackets off the donor car, by brackets are we talking the clips are different or what... I hope this experience isn't too frustrating and I hope I don't break my beloved 6 otherwise I might go buy a Mondeo lmfao and place my lpg kit on that

come on be an easy job! easyish at least and come on Nutski show me how you did yours.

If you've got the new interior, why not just have a look at the back seat? Or have you not got the interior yet?
I only know about the 309 as I've had to do it myself to try to bend the metal backing plate back into shape. Fingers crossed it's the same for you!

Had a busy day at work, not had a chance to post the images! The rear seat base will swap over fine, both are held in by two 10mm nuts at the front so no probs there, the backs are where you find the issue, the bolts and positioning is identical until you get the release buttons, D9 has the pull levers on the underside in the boot which leads into the parcel shelf, if you can get the entire parcel shelf out of the D9 Exec you may be able to retro fit this, i'm pretty sure someone on here has done this before. This may be easier than trying to swap the upholstery, as especially when you get to the rear arm rest and boot access hole its a PITA, taking to bits is bad enough, putting back together is a nightmare.
I'll try and get my pics up tonight, got my bro on the way round and i'm getting told to unblock the sink.......

Haha I might just be a Genius, thanks Nutski it is most Appriciated, guess what, I bought the rear parcel shelf too! because of the sunblind could robert be my dad's brother

anymore suggestions people? So basically it is just the part from the split fold rears of the seats fit and lock into that are in different positions?

Now your going to tell me the bloody parcel shelf is different too right?
Bloody cars....
I do love a good project....
and My dad used to be a Tig or a Mig or one of those welding classifications, so he can probably contribute to setting the 6 on fire in some way if needs be
The wiring for the seating is going to be fun, there is already a feed for the amplifier and the LPG kit directly from the battery, go job I bought the biggest heavy duty super premium DIESEL battery I could that would fit into the box

Right here we go, i've grabbed all the pics i can find on my computer, the upholstery has plastic ridge runner that pushes into the metal ridge on the back plate, looks like it should slide in, bit like an awning on a caravan, i used a blunt chisel to bend out the metal ridge to release the upholstery, found it best to start on the sides, then bottom, top was the worst, much tougher!
Which then leaves you with this:
Sorry, pics bit crappy
You can see the ridge and plastic runner a bit better here:
You need to take out the plastic headrest release bar thingys, on the D8 they are shorter than on the D9:
To get these out you need bend the foam round to try and get your hands in, you see the lugs on the bars, you need to push both of these in to be able to release them and push them up, once these are out you can lift off the upholstery over the head rest bars.
Now comes the fun part!!
There is a looong bolt you need to remove to take off the rear arm rest, once this is off you get the following bit, the upholstery around the load through section has two sides i think which are connected like the main back frame, other two sides have metal bars through looped leather and metal hoops, pull the ends off and slide out to release.
Now you should have this!!!
Obviously need to do thi to the cloth and the leather, refitting is in reverse and slightly harder (the load through section it annoying), i clipped in the plastic edging and used a cloth and a hammer to fold over the metal ridge again.
Hope the is comprehensive enough!
