Hi pple,
Ive got an annoying creaking noise coming from where i think is the pillar between my rear and front door, also slightly hear it on drivers side.Had both door cards off, and cant find anything behind them that would cause it. Has anyone experianced noises from this area? Can only hear it at its worst on bumpy roads etc.
Any help much appreciated.

Is your stereo broken?
Mine squeeks all over until my other half gets out, then the stereo goes on and it's no longer an issue...

One place I did notice it coming from was the door latch release - get a passenger to pull the handle a bit and see if it stops.

Bejesus - if a man were to locate (and fix) all the creaks, squeeks and rattles of a Peugeot 406 then he shall become very old, tired and bitter.
I find mine to be entertaining - I get new ones every few days! a realy big rattle behind the binnacle at low revs has gone recently by itself

I had that creaking noise on both my 406's and i think i know what causes it.
I think that over time, the body becomes a bit misshapen. Its more obvious in my new 6 because i can clearly see there is a considerable difference in the gap between the drivers door and the back door and the gap between the passenger door and the other back door.
I put it down to the trim inside being put under more strain due to the slight warping of the doors and thus causing the creaking sound.
I'm
never wrong about 406's

Absolutely not dear fellow, just bored. I've got 50 minutes 'til I have to go and pick up my SWIMBO but I can't do anything major 'cos the doctor says so (bluddy ankle). All I can do is clean out the cat's litter tray but I'm saving that for when I reach extremely bored.
