Welly misses mileage milestone by miles

Post by Welly »

First I missed that all important 60K a while back and vowed to capture the 61K in all its glory until it rolled-over on a busy road last night :frown:

So here, nearly, is the big 61 and here's to many more

One of my many hobbies (including experimental Asian cookery) is to safely raise the driven wheels of a vehicle on my driveway and run the drive-train through its gears whilst stationary. This is why the MPG-o-meter is saying 99mpg so nerr

That was a little fib, I actually hopped into the rear seat for a bit whilst on a busy A-Road and zoomed-in on the dash, this in itself was a nuisance as I couldn't find anywhere to put my Red Wine and Cigarette :?

Well that's ok then :cheesy: Did they make smoking while driving illegal now? It wouldn't surprise me anyway (nobody smokes in my cars :frown: ). I presume you weren't eating a donkeyburger at the time...

No I'd just finished eating (hence the cigarette) but I was in the middle of an important text message :)

You can schmoke in cars but not in 'shared' work vehicles. Do you still smoke steve?

Get a electronic ciggy mate,
I've not had a real CIG in 4 month,

I've been using one called i-breath, it still contains nicotine but not as harmful as areal CIG
I cut down that way..

I've saved a fortune with it too,
With what I've saved its paid for a cheap car for the mrs..

I used to smoke but stopped in 2001, I hadn't really noticed the cost of fags recently until someone said the other day and I was shocked

I cut down (rather than stopped) over a month or so until I was down to maybe 2-a-day and it seemed pointless then so just stopped. I suppose we're all different though. I know one thing; it was nice to go into shops without needing to look at the Cigarettes and I think we'd all rather be a non-smoker at the end of the day.

Oh and Puggy; I haven't quite got to liquidised food yet but you'll be the first to know

I kinda miss smoking sometimes;

Sitting outside on a hot day with a Coffee was a good one.
Beach Smoking was hard to beat.
First one in the car on the way to work (or after work) was always good.
Not to mention Beer-and-a-fag 8)
I never did do that smoke-after-a-meal thing and never smoked indoors cos she didn't like the smell :?

.....this probably isn't helping is it?

No, I'm thinking "small beer compared to all the advantages of giving up" :( You should work out how much money you've saved since you quit...

My wife smokes, so there's no incentive to go outside or anything. I kind of wish there was, it would limit the amount I smoke. It doesn't help that fags here are cheap compared to the UK (about 2 quid a packet, or 4 quid odd for a wotsit of tobacco which is what I'm on these days).

I've tried a few gimmicks to help giving up: chewing gum (gave me lockjaw), patches (hahaha I have 12 on my arm now and I still feel like killing someone  ), I even bought some nicotine spray last time I was in the UK, it was quite pricey and made me vomit. So I'm a little reluctant to try anything else. The stupid thing is I gave up for almost a year once, using Zyban, but I rather idiotically though I could get away with being a "social smoker", only smoking when I had a drink (don't even think about it, there'll soon be no-one you can ponce one off and then you'll buy a packet...) Unfortunately they don't do them here
