Further to a recent related topic on here, today my a/c is being re-gassed:
It is almost exactly 3 years since it was last done:
Recommended Capacity: 530 grammes
Actual Capacity found before re-gas: 420 grammes
So it has lost 20% over 3 years (6.66% per year).
Bit surprised but not too bad I suppose, just need some warm weather

So you are to blame for the sudden down turn in the weather

Mines empty after 4 years. Needs regassing badly.
It goes cool, but very very slightly.

My bmw's A/C hasn't been touched from new (2001) and it'll still freeze your bo##ocks off.

It''ll pack up now I've said that

Strangely enough the wife's focus' AC isn't working this year, I think it's because she doesn't use it often enough. How much is a check and regas these days?
The pug's was still going strong after 10 years, but I never turned it off.

Its around £40 - £50 depending where you go. Seems pricey but they are generally thorough and do pressure checks etc before a re-gas.

Kwik Fit will do a full check on the A/C system and if they can't regass it won't charge you a penny!
Although I'm having a hard time in trusting them with my car

I'd have a hard time trusting them with a bicycle pump.

They done mine, found a leak but didn't have anyone qualified to "find the leak"... Nearest place for someone to look at it was Barry... but you're right they didn't charge me for the 45 minute wait to hear something I'd already guessed.
