Inside the COM2000 - a "How Not To"

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Some do, they don't look as daft as you'd expect either.

I'd be very interested in who made them (I will make some sense out of this :frown: )

Go on Jasper, stretch that spring  (I bet that's all BBA do...)

I'll have a look at mine to see if I can find out the make, but I'm not sure my wife would take kindly to me screwing up her indicators :frown:

I may have go when I get my confidence back, it's a bit beat up after the mjb clutch thing.

one of the guys here's just passed his driving test and got a 206 with the indicator stalk problem. he's going to get it replaced by the (used) dealer he bought it from, but i'm going to see if I can acquire his old one and have a play with it. Reckon there's a damn good chance of it being physically and electrically compatible with 406s

Hi,
Thanks for the mention!
Whilst talking to the taxi rental guys, they tell me that they've had all sorts of problems
with this indicator thingy's and not confined to exec's unfortunately.......
''they all do that'' was the answer as was leaky intercoolers and stuck egr valves.

Im wondering if that little bit of plastic needs to b in place for resistance against the board, in order for the arm to have a secure movement and not be able to slip? anyone elses thoughts on this?

I don't think so, I'd think the mechanics of the indicator should work even with the board missing.

Ive just taken apart my old one and i see what you mean! it seems the white thing that comes out of the end of the stalk is either badly worn on the end or as you say the spring needs to be stretched to push it out more.

Tis a complicated piece of kit! Mine is a DAV unit but slightly different to yours!!

Hi Guyz and Galz
I have a little problem with my com2000 on my 406. It's due for replacement and I have 2 possibilities by my hand: 624231 and 6242c2.
Can Any og you help mé to find out which one I should use. My com2000 Unit looks exactly like the one on the pictures and the car is with rear wiper, auto wipe, board computer, foglights front and rear.

Thanks in advance
