Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Battery charge light

Post by 406hdiest »

Hi , for the last year or so my speedo intermitantly stops working and I notice a tiny drop in power until it comes back on , however the last couple of days I have got battery charge fault coming up on the display. I have checked the earth lead from the battery to the engine and body and they appear ok any ideas before I lose my rag and trade it in ? :)

Stick a multimeter across the battery with the engine running. You should have approx 14v if the alternator is functioning.
