Hello, 406's boot lighting is not enough for me, it works only wirh a 5W bulb without reflector.
For more illumination I cancelled stock W5W bulb and add a led strip.
This led strip has 3 warm white leds in every 5 cm. It works with 12V DC.
I cut 40 cm and fixed it to upper ceiling. This will be 6 times brighter and homogeneous than stock bulb.
Nice work. I need some of that in my wardrobes and drawers, can't see sh1te with one single ecomentalist energymatic green tube bulb thing in the middle of me ceiling.
The man with no car
"Close the door on your way out, and don't forget your monkey."
yep the normal factory fit light just isnt enough to light the boot at night, i had to do the same to my boot i used led fog lights which are intended for the front of the car, its nearly too bright, one of them led strips seems like a better choice, i also put a switch into the boot so the leds did not always come on
that seems like it was a very simple change, how did you go about it? I wouldn't mind doing something like this myself because as you and others say, the boot lighting is rather poor, especially when full.
The job is quite simple, once you have the leds its just a case of wiring them up to the exhisting boot light bulb, if you want you can also put a switch on them so they wont always come on
pukka idea mate , am going for it , boot light in estate real crap

i know some compainies make reels that can be cut to length, but im not sure if the remaining bit can be used, but im sure it would be easy enough to solder on some power connection to keep it going
