Not sure what section I should have posted this on. Please feel free to move to the right one.
I lost my car keys a few months back. It was connected to my house key and as a result got burgled. The people who are involved in the burglary still have my car key. And I have noticed on several occaisions stuff disappearing from my car. The latest being my blue M.O.T sticker off of my windscreen. My question is is it possible to reprogram the central locking bippers to another frequency? Or how hard and expensive is it to change locks?

That's a real bastard
I'm surprised you're not waiting behind your car every night with a baseball bat.

Ok, it's a D8. How about a complete set of keys & locks and the receiver ECU from one in a scrappies? Not sure what changing locks is like on a 406 but I've done it on other cars and it's usually straight forward.samart wrote:...my P reg 2000cc GLX...

Re: Lock Change
The boot & door locks are pretty straight forward to change, I've not done an ignition barrel though. If you're being pedantic don't forget the glove box lock!
As Steve says you'll also want the central locking transponder & key pcb from a scrappy as well.

Re: Lock Change
I'm not really to bothered about the ignition barrel to tell the truth. I just want to stop the scrotes getting into the car. I have a crook lock on the car so without taking an awful lot of trouble getting it off, they can't steal the car. I will look into a the locks and transponder. Is there a decent online pug brakers?

Re: Lock Change
Check with your Insurance policy, many have Lock replacement cover built in.
