LED Bulbs

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

LED Bulbs

Post by highlander »

Hey all,

Would these actually be compatible / legal / any good?

I'd be looking at either the "6 LED White" or "High Power White" options, none of those daft colours that are just begging for the local police to issue you a nice £30 fine.

I find the standard sidelights a bit poor on the 406, and the standard dipped lights are OK I guess, but I don't want to pay hundreds for a legally-questionable HID kit. The full beam lights are decent enough as they are anyway.

Would the same bulbs Peugeot used for their reg. lights also be the same bulbs they used for the door puddle lights on the Execs? If so, then great - I'll pick up four of these and then look at wiring these in to the courtesy lights, as they should be considerably lower wattage than the standard filament bulbs. Hell, the "High Power" upgrade on these bulbs is only 1W, so the "Normal 6 LED" bulbs should be a lot less.

Cheers
Graeme

I've got standard fitment sidelight LED (501's?) bulbs fitted in most of the places possible on the 406. I've got them in all the interior lights including the door puddle lights, also in the rear number plate light bulb and also in the headlights. Look good and give off a cool light, not much brighter than standard, but look much better. Dirt cheap from eBay, especially if you buy them in bulk.
